My adventure as a portraitist at the Paris 2024 Olympics
I’m going to tell you here about my participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games… Not as a sportswoman (that’s for others!), but as an Olympic Games portraitist, invited by On Location, the exclusive official operator of hospitality programs for this global event.
A unique setting for my art
A barge in the heart of Paris
During these two exceptional weeks of the Olympic GamesI was lucky enough to exercise my role as portraitist aboard the Melba barge, a magnificent venue with a breathtaking view of the Seine, the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens. This exceptional setting provided the backdrop for my creations, where I drew portraits of VIP guests, clients of On Locationclients, who came to relax and enjoy special moments in the heart of Paris. An inspiring environment for drawing
Being surrounded by such a landscape made my work even more special. Each portrait I drew was imbued with the magical atmosphere of Paris, and this added a new dimension to each work. It was much more than just portrait work, it was a total immersion in art, culture and hospitality.
My role as portraitist at the Olympic Games
Over 300 portraits taken
As a portraitist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, I had the opportunity to take over 300 portraits of VIP guests. These people, who came from all over the world to attend the competitions, took a break between sporting events to refresh, relax and, of course, have their portraits taken. Each portrait represented a unique, personalized souvenir of their time at the Olympic Games.VIP guests delighted by their portrait
Seeing the smiles, wonder and surprise of the guests as they discovered their portrait was one of the greatest satisfactions for me. Capturing these emotions in a setting as historic and emblematic as Paris gave another dimension to my work. Each drawing told a story, that of an exceptional moment at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.Unforgettable moments on the Melba barge
Original entertainment to keep guests entertained
In addition to my role as portraitist, my experience at the Olympic Games was punctuated by some incredibly memorable moments. The On Location team had thought of everything to ensure that the guests’ experience was unique. We were treated to original entertainment: a game of pétanque on the Seine, a river cruise hosted by a historian passionate about Napoleon, and of course, the magical evenings illuminated by a hot-air balloon floating over Paris.Remarkable encounters
These moments of sharing and discovery reinforced the convivial atmosphere aboard the barge Melba. It was much more than a simple portrait, it was an immersive adventure where each guest became a character in their own right, participating in the magic of the Olympic Games.
